The Washington State Department of Agriculture was awarded $4.1 million in grant money for 20 projects involving specialty crops.
The projects include strawberry research, a video showcasing Washington apples, hop and grape studies and much more with each project getting between $75,000 and $250,000.
Seven of the grants will be going to research being done by Washington State University.
WSDA has received more than $31 million over the past 10 years for projects supported by the Specialty Crop Block Grant Program.
